Dec, 11, 1879, at Salem, Utah County, U.T., ROYAL DURFEE, age 68 years. Brother Durfee was born March 16th, 1811, and joined the Church in Canada, in 1836. Emigrated to Nauvoo, passing through the persecution there. While at Farmington, the mob hanged several of the brethern to try and compel them to divulge what they called, "the Mormon secrets." Brother Dufree, on hearing of this went among them and defied the whole of them, remaining several hours with them, they fearing to hang him. He emigrated to Utah in 1852, and was engaged in several Indian wars. Came to Salem in 1856. Was a member of the 35th Quorum of Seventies, and died bearing a faithful testimony to the divine mission of Joseph Smith.


In this city, at 9:45 a.m., Dec. 23, 1879, of diphtheria, ALBERT, SON OF PHILIP AND MARTHA PUGSLEY, aged 13 years and 11 months.


In this city, December 25th, 1879, WINFRED ISABELLA, daughter of W.W. and M.C.B. Wood, aged 4 years, 2 months and 9 days.


In Skull, Valley, December 20th, 1879 of old age, Isabel Gray Parl; aged 92 years.


At Toquerville, Kane County, December 11th, 1879 of inflammation of the brain, SARAH ANN, wife of ALMA P. SPILSBURY deceased was born in Mill Creek Ward, February 27th, 1853. Resolution of respect to the memory of Sarah Ann Sapilsbury, President of the Y.L.M.I. Association were passed by the members thereof.


At Riverside Station, Beaver County, Monday, the 22nd inst., ELLEN CORDELIA LAMOREAUX; aged 30 years and 10 months.


In the 9th Ward of this city, December 26th, at 3:05 p.m., of inflammation of the lungs, ELIZABETH ROMERIL, wife of PETER ROMERIL, aged 65 years and seven months. Deceased was formerly a member of the Whitechapal Branch, London Conference, and died in the faith of the gospel. (Note: Milennial Star, Please copy.)


In the 16th Ward, at residence of his mother, at 2:15 a.m., December 27th, 1879 of dropsey and heart disease, EMMETT DeSOTO MOUSLEY, son of ELIZABETH WAY and GEORGE WASHINGTON MOUSELY; born December 17th, 1853, nearn Wilmington, in New Castle County, Delaware.


At the residence of Prest. A.M. Cannon. 14th Ward, December 28th, at 5 a.m. of consumption LYDIA ENSIGN HARDY daughter of Eustaquio and Ann F. Valencia, born in San Francisco Cal., Oct. 25, 1853. Funeral services will be held the residence of Brother Cannon at 11 a.m., Wednesday, 31st inst. Sister Hardy's mother was a passenger on the ship "Brooklyn," in the early settlement of San Francisco, she being a daughter of Sister Lydia Moses, sister to Brother Samuel Ensign, of this city, while her father Valencia, of the Mission Dolores of Castihan descent, who owned, by a Mexican grant, a large part of the present site of San Francisco. John Hardy, her husband, falling a victim to comsumption, over four years since, left his young wife with two little girls to provide for, at Santa Rosa, Cal., which she did in a creditable manner by teaching school having received a very excellent certificate from the board of education of that State. Her faith in the Lord was great; she embraced the gospel some months since, as believed in by her departed mother, and now sleeps with the glorious hope of living with His saints eternally,--[Com.

In The 9th Ward, in this city, at 2 p.m., December 29th, 1879, of congestion of the heart, GRACIE W. daughter of ISSAC and MARY J.W. GROO (the mother's oldest child); born Feb. 10, 1865.


At Lake Town, Rich County, Utah, December 22nd 1879, of milk fever, ANN HODGES, greatly beloved wife of JOSPEH IRWIN.

Deceased was born at the parish of St. George, Gloucestershire, near Britol, England, September 16th, 1853; was baptized at Bristol by Elder Elijah N. Freeman, May 5th, 1874, and emigratefd to Utah in July, 1875; was sealed in the bonds of matrimony to her husband for time and eternity October 25th, 1875, and now leaves her husband and two children and a multitude of friends who deeply mourn her departure. Sister Annie, from the time she entered into covenant with the Lord by baptism, ever strove to magnify her high and holy calling, and the great peace and resignation that characterized her in death were out of true reflex of her noble and virtuous life. She was a loving wife and mother, a faithful Latter-day Saint, and was conseious to the last moment, and departed full of faith and hope of a glorious resurrection.-[Com.


At her mother's residence on the 28th of December, 1879, of pneumonia, HELENA RUTH RANDS, aged 15 years and 5 months.
